Generators Topsy, born November 2, 1966, was bred by Cedarcrest Farms, Faunsdale, Ala. She was purchased in the 1969 Kentucky National Show and Sale by Briggs and Beth Cunningham, Woodstock, Conn., who later sold an interest to Happy Valley Farm, Harrodsburg, Ky. She then sold in the 1977 HVF Dispersal to James Chaney, Bowling Green, Ky. "Topsy" died at Chaney Farm in the fall of 1982.
Her DHIR lifetime production totaled 213,815 lbs. milk and 9,493 lbs. fat, with average daily production of 56.4 lbs. milk and 2.5 lbs. fat. She placed second for milk and fat in the 1981 Living Lifetime Production Contest.
"Topsy" was the All American Two-Year-Old Cow in 1969 and the Reserve All American Four-Year-Old Cow in 1971. In 1972 and 1973, she was the All American Aged Cow as well as the National Grand Champion in 1973. She was also the first Jersey cow to be scored Excellent-97%.
Generators Topsy was a daughter of Milestones Generator, with a September 1970 USDA Sire Summary of +1,113M, +37F, with 42% repeatability. This proof is unadjusted for the current genetic base of the breed, and therefore cannot be directly compared to current sire evaluations. Her dam is Beautys Topsy, VG-86%, with a best record of 3-4 305 13,460 5.0% 678.
"Topsy" had 12 registered progeny: six sons and six daughters.
